LCSD Alumni Association Scholarships
The Alumni Association awarded 5 scholarships on May 19, 2011. Three $500 Alumni Association scholarships, one $250 Barbara Kock Powell Endowment Trust scholarship and one $500 Decades of Excellence scholarship. Receiving the Alumni Association scholarships were MacKenzie De Jong, daughter of Joel and Lorraine Albert (1975), Katy Koerselman, daughter of Bruce (1979) and Beth Koerselman, and Lauren Morehead, daughter of Marty (1977) and Michelle Morehead. The Barb Powll Endowment Trust Scholarship was awarded to Kasie Collins, daughter of Cliff (1985) and Kellie Collins. This year the Alumni Association chose to honor Kristen Ahlers with the Decades of Excellence Scholarship. She is the daughter of John and Debra Renken (1983) and the granddaughter of Bill (1958) and Janice Tammen (1962) Renken.

The number of Alumni Association scholarships vary from year to year depending upon the monies in the fund. Contributions and memberships to the Alumni Association help fund the scholarships.
The LCSD Alumni Association awarded 8 scholarships to graduates of the Class of 2010. Recipients were:
Rebecca and Jill Ahlers each received a $250 Barb Kock Powell Scholarship; Sara Strub the $500 Decades of Excellence Scholarship; Jessica Kelly and Scott Borchers each received a $250 Class of 1949 Scholarship; Amy Lubben, Scott Baue, and Tiara Wentz each received a $500 LCSD Alumni Association Scholarship.
