August 24

Directories are arriving
I received my 2010 Alumni Directory in the mail today. Hopefully everyone else will be receiving their's today or this week.

An addition to the 2010 directory is the professional listing of alumni and their occupations. This was an optional feature during the interview process so not everyone's name will be there.

Enjoy your book!

Back to School!!
The Plymouth County Fair is over and that means the school bell will be ringing soon. August is also the time of year when alumni membership renewals are due. If you haven't already done so, now is the time. September 1 is the start of the new year for the Alumni Association (same as each school year).

Basic memberships are just $15 and that money helps defray the costs of the quarterly newsletter, maintaining the alumni database and alumni website and help provide the yearly scholarships for graduating seniors.

Now we can't do it all with the basic price, so those who wish to give more can be a Kennel Kaper member at $30 or a Bark at $50, $125 at the Red/Black level, $250 at the Bulldog and $500 at the Big Red Booster. (These levels also get your name listed in the Doggone News.)

Go Bulldogs!

We’re Looking Forward to Seeing You! Registered or not!

It’s shaping up to be a great weekend in every way.  Now, all we need is YOU! Our goal for Decades of Excellence 2010 is to afford as many opportunities for building on the great friendships and relationships that make being a Le Mars Alum a wonderful part of life.

If you are a Le Mars alum and for some reason have not registered for the reunion, there are several opportunities to meet those who are coming the distance.

  • An All-Alumni Classic Car/Tractor Cruise ending with a Coffee at Old Central Gym on Saturday morning.  The cruise gathers at the High School Parking lot and ends at Old Central – 9:30 a.m.  Coffee starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Central Gym.  The renovated Study Hall will be open for viewing.
  • An All-Alumni/community Ecumenical Worship Service at the new Middle School Gymnasium.  10:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
  • A Club/Activity meet and greet at Carey Gym Sunday afternoon at 2 to 4 p.m.  All local past and present faculty and staff are invited.
  • The Noteables are playing Sunday evening at Foster Park 7:30-9:00 p.m. before the fireworks.

Volunteers worked diligently to have the Old Central Study Hall completed in time for the All School Reunion in July. It was used again for the first time in decades to hold The Alumni Quilt Show. What a beautiful sight it was to see dozens of quilts displayed throughtout the room.
